Refund policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

At UKASTA – UK Academy of Sound & Therapeutic Arts, we want you to feel confident when booking training with us. This policy explains our approach to cancellations and refunds for online courses, practical training and other UKASTA services.

This policy does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

1. Online Courses & Digital Content

UKASTA online courses provide access to digital educational content and resources.

If you purchase an online course as an individual consumer, you may normally have a statutory 14-day cancellation period.

However, UKASTA courses are generally made available for immediate access following purchase.

Where you request and expressly consent to receiving immediate access to digital course content during the 14-day cancellation period, and acknowledge that your cancellation right will be lost once supply of the digital content begins, your statutory right to cancel that digital content will end when access begins.

Where the required consent and acknowledgement have not been obtained, your statutory cancellation rights will continue to apply in accordance with applicable consumer law.

2. Refunds After Course Access Has Begun

Once course access has been activated and digital content has been supplied following the appropriate consent and acknowledgement, refunds will not normally be provided because a learner:

  • changes their mind;

  • decides not to continue with the course;

  • does not complete the course;

  • does not complete the course within the applicable access period;

  • does not successfully meet the assessment or certification requirements; or

  • experiences a change in personal or employment circumstances.

This does not affect any statutory rights you may have where digital content or services are faulty, not as described or have not been provided with reasonable care and skill.

If exceptional circumstances prevent you from continuing your training, please contact us. Although we cannot guarantee a refund, we will consider the circumstances and, where appropriate, whether another reasonable arrangement can be offered.

3. Cancelling Before Digital Access Begins

Where you have purchased an eligible online course but digital content has not yet been supplied, you may contact us within the applicable statutory cancellation period to request cancellation.

Where a valid statutory cancellation right applies, any refund due will be processed in accordance with applicable consumer law.

To request cancellation, contact:

info@ukasta-academy.co.uk

Please include your name, email address used for the purchase and details of the course purchased.

4. Practical & In-Person Training

Some UKASTA programmes include practical, in-person or live training.

Any specific cancellation or rescheduling terms relating to an in-person course, workshop or practical training date will be provided as part of the relevant booking information.

Where a learner cannot attend a booked practical training date, please contact UKASTA as soon as possible.

Where reasonably possible, we may offer a transfer to an alternative available date. Transfers are subject to availability and any specific conditions associated with the relevant programme.

Costs incurred by learners for travel, accommodation or other arrangements are normally the learner's responsibility.

5. If UKASTA Cancels or Reschedules Training

Occasionally, UKASTA may need to reschedule practical or live training because of circumstances such as tutor illness, venue availability, insufficient participant numbers or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Where this happens, we will aim to provide as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an appropriate alternative date or arrangement.

Where UKASTA cancels a training event and cannot provide a suitable alternative, we will provide an appropriate refund for the affected element of the booking where applicable.

Unless required by law or expressly agreed otherwise, UKASTA is not responsible for consequential costs such as travel or accommodation. We therefore recommend using flexible or refundable arrangements where possible.

6. Faulty or Misdescribed Digital Content or Services

UKASTA is committed to providing its courses and training with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the course description provided at the time of purchase.

If you experience a significant technical problem with UKASTA digital content, believe that the content or service has not been provided as described, or believe that your statutory consumer rights have not been met, please contact us.

We will investigate the issue and provide an appropriate remedy where required by law.

Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts your statutory consumer rights.

7. Corporate & Group Bookings

Corporate and group training purchases may be subject to a separate UKASTA Corporate Training Agreement, proposal or written booking terms.

Where separate corporate terms have been agreed, those terms will apply to the relevant booking.

Course places purchased for individual employees cannot normally be transferred once the nominated learner has begun accessing substantive course content.

Where a nominated learner has not yet commenced their programme, an organisation may contact UKASTA to request a substitution in accordance with the applicable Corporate Training Agreement.

8. Refund Processing

Where a refund is due, it will normally be made using the original payment method unless another method is agreed or required.

We will process statutory refunds within the timescales required by applicable consumer law.

Depending on your bank or payment provider, additional time may be required for the refunded amount to appear in your account.
