1. About UKASTA

UKASTA – UK Academy of Sound & Therapeutic Arts (“UKASTA”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is operated by SLO-YIN Wellness Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17305181.

UKASTA provides professional education and training in sound therapy, mindfulness and other therapeutic and wellness practices through online learning, practical training, workshops and related educational resources.

You can contact us at:

info@ukasta-academy.co.uk

www.ukasta-academy.co.uk

These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases, enrolments and use of UKASTA courses and training services unless separate written terms have been agreed.

Corporate bookings may also be subject to a separate UKASTA Corporate Training Agreement.

2. Our Approach

Our aim is to provide high-quality, professionally relevant education that gives learners the knowledge, practical understanding and confidence to apply their learning appropriately within their professional setting.

We are committed to:

  • providing the course content and resources described at the time of enrolment;

  • providing reasonable learner and tutor support;

  • assessing submitted work fairly and consistently;

  • communicating any significant changes that materially affect a programme;

  • treating learner information and assessment submissions appropriately and confidentially; and

  • issuing certification where all applicable course requirements have been successfully completed.

3. Course Information

We aim to ensure that all course descriptions, learning outcomes, accreditation or endorsement information, delivery formats, assessment requirements and prices displayed on our website are accurate.

Course content may be updated periodically to reflect developments in professional practice, educational standards, evidence, legislation or industry requirements.

We may make reasonable changes to course materials, resources, tutors, assessment methods or programme structure where these changes do not materially reduce the overall learning outcomes or value of the programme.

Where a significant change materially affects an enrolled learner, we will communicate this where reasonably practicable.

4. Enrolment

Unless expressly stated otherwise, course enrolment is for one individual learner.

Learners must provide accurate information when registering and must keep their login details secure.

An individual course account must not be shared with another person.

Where an employer or organisation purchases training on behalf of a learner, the learner will normally receive their own individual course enrolment and, where applicable, certification in their own name.

Corporate bookings may be subject to additional terms agreed directly with the purchasing organisation.

5. Course Access

Unless a different access period is stated in the individual course description or agreed in writing, learners will receive 12 months' access to their online course from the date their enrolment is activated.

It is the learner's responsibility to complete the programme within the applicable access period.

If exceptional circumstances prevent completion, learners are encouraged to contact UKASTA before their access expires. Any extension is at UKASTA's discretion and may be subject to reasonable conditions or an administration fee.

Access may be temporarily interrupted for essential maintenance, technical updates or circumstances outside our reasonable control. We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption.

6. Course Completion & Certification

Purchasing or enrolling on a course does not automatically guarantee certification.

Learners must successfully complete the applicable requirements for their programme. Depending on the course, these may include:

  • online modules;

  • quizzes or knowledge checks;

  • reflective exercises;

  • written assignments;

  • case studies;

  • practical assessments;

  • video submissions;

  • attendance at practical training; and

  • any other assessment requirements identified within the relevant programme.

Where submitted work does not initially meet the required standard, UKASTA may provide feedback and an opportunity to resubmit in accordance with the requirements of the relevant course.

Certification will be issued in the learner's name following successful completion of all applicable requirements.

Certificates confirm successful completion of the UKASTA programme stated on the certificate. They do not represent qualifications, licences, professional registrations or competencies outside the scope of that programme.

7. Professional Responsibility & Scope of Practice

UKASTA courses are educational programmes designed to develop knowledge and professional facilitation skills within the scope of the programme undertaken.

Learners are responsible for practising within their own level of training, competence and professional scope.

Completion of a UKASTA programme does not replace any professional registration, licence, medical qualification, insurance requirement, employer competency assessment or other qualification that may be required for a particular activity.

Where learners intend to offer services professionally, they are responsible for ensuring that they hold appropriate insurance and comply with relevant legislation, professional requirements, employer policies and local requirements applicable to their work.

Learners should not diagnose, treat or claim to cure medical or psychological conditions unless appropriately qualified and authorised to do so within their existing professional scope.

UKASTA training is not a substitute for medical, psychological or other regulated professional advice.

8. Accreditation & Endorsement

Where a course is accredited, endorsed or recognised by an external organisation, this will be stated within the relevant course information.

Accreditation or endorsement applies only to the programme for which it has specifically been granted.

UKASTA does not guarantee membership of any professional body, eligibility for any particular insurance policy, employment or acceptance by a particular employer or organisation following completion of a programme.

Learners are responsible for checking any specific professional, insurance or employment requirements relevant to their circumstances.

9. Fees & Payment

Course fees are displayed on the UKASTA website or provided within a written quotation or invoice.

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods made available by UKASTA.

Unless otherwise stated, prices are shown in pounds sterling (£).

SLO-YIN Wellness Ltd is not currently VAT registered and therefore VAT is not currently added to UKASTA course fees.

For corporate or group bookings, payment terms will be stated on the relevant invoice and may also be subject to a Corporate Training Agreement.

UKASTA reserves the right to change future course prices. Any price change will not affect a course that has already been purchased and paid for unless otherwise agreed.

10. Online Purchases, Digital Content & Cancellation Rights

If you purchase a course online as an individual consumer, you may have statutory cancellation rights under UK consumer law.

Online UKASTA courses include digital content and access to educational materials that may become available immediately following enrolment.

Where you request immediate access to digital course content during a statutory cancellation period, you may be asked at checkout to expressly consent to the digital content being supplied immediately and to acknowledge that, once supply of that digital content begins, you may lose your statutory right to cancel that digital-content element of the purchase.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to restrict or remove any statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

If you believe you are entitled to cancel a purchase or request a refund, please contact:

info@ukasta-academy.co.uk

We will consider cancellation and refund requests in accordance with applicable consumer law and the circumstances of the purchase.

11. Refunds & Non-Completion

Once course access has been activated and digital content has been supplied following the appropriate consent and acknowledgement, refunds will not normally be available simply because a learner:

  • changes their mind after beginning the programme;

  • no longer wishes to complete the programme;

  • does not complete the programme within the access period;

  • does not achieve certification;

  • fails to submit required assessments; or

  • experiences a change in personal or employment circumstances.

This does not affect any statutory rights or any right to a refund or other remedy where UKASTA has failed to provide the course with reasonable care and skill, where digital content does not meet applicable legal requirements, or where another legal right to a remedy applies.

Where exceptional circumstances arise, UKASTA may consider an alternative arrangement at its discretion.

12. Transfers

Individual course enrolments are personal to the enrolled learner and cannot normally be transferred to another person once the learner has begun accessing substantive course content.

For corporate bookings, an organisation may request to substitute a nominated learner before that learner has commenced the programme. Such substitutions must be agreed with UKASTA and may be subject to the applicable Corporate Training Agreement.

13. Practical & In-Person Training

Some UKASTA programmes include or require practical, face-to-face or live online training.

Learners are responsible for attending required sessions at the agreed time and location.

Any specific cancellation, rescheduling, travel or attendance terms applicable to practical training will be communicated as part of the relevant booking.

UKASTA may need to reschedule practical training because of illness, venue availability, circumstances outside our reasonable control or insufficient participant numbers.

Where UKASTA needs to make a significant change, we will aim to provide as much notice as reasonably possible and offer an appropriate alternative.

UKASTA is not responsible for consequential travel, accommodation or other costs except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing.

14. Learner Conduct

We expect learners to behave respectfully and professionally when participating in UKASTA training, online communities, live sessions and practical training.

UKASTA reserves the right to take proportionate action where a learner engages in serious misconduct, harassment, threatening behaviour, deliberate misuse of course materials, academic dishonesty or behaviour that places others at risk.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include a warning, removal from a particular activity or, in serious cases, termination of course access.

Where reasonably appropriate, we will explain the concern and give the learner an opportunity to respond before taking significant action.

15. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, UKASTA course materials and resources are owned by or licensed to SLO-YIN Wellness Ltd.

This includes, where applicable:

  • course text and educational content;

  • presentations;

  • videos and audio recordings;

  • scripts;

  • worksheets;

  • diagrams and graphics;

  • assessment materials;

  • templates;

  • practitioner resources;

  • downloadable documents;

  • course structures and original educational frameworks.

Enrolment gives the learner a personal, limited right to use these materials for their own learning and, where expressly appropriate, their own professional practice.

Course materials must not be copied, reproduced, sold, republished, uploaded, distributed, shared with non-enrolled individuals or used to create or deliver another training programme without prior written permission from UKASTA.

Where a resource such as a practitioner template or script is expressly provided for use with a learner's own clients, it may be used for that intended purpose.

16. Recording

Learners may not record live UKASTA training, workshops or other participants without prior permission.

UKASTA may occasionally record online or in-person training for educational purposes. Where participants may be identifiable, appropriate notice will be provided.

17. Third-Party Platforms & Resources

UKASTA may use third-party technology and services to provide courses, process payments, communicate with learners and deliver educational content.

This may include our website, learning-management platform, video or communication services and payment providers.

We are not responsible for temporary interruptions or failures of third-party services outside our reasonable control, although we will take reasonable steps to help learners regain access where possible.

Courses may also contain links or references to third-party resources. Unless expressly stated, UKASTA does not control or endorse all content available through external websites.

18. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

UKASTA will provide its educational services with reasonable care and skill.

Subject to applicable law, UKASTA is not responsible for losses arising from a learner:

  • acting outside their professional competence or scope of practice;

  • failing to follow appropriate safety guidance;

  • failing to maintain suitable professional insurance;

  • using course content for purposes for which it was not designed; or

  • making independent professional or business decisions based on their training.

We do not guarantee particular commercial results, earnings, employment opportunities, client outcomes or business performance as a result of completing a UKASTA programme.

19. Corporate Training

Where an employer, spa, hotel, educational institution or other organisation purchases multiple UKASTA course places or bespoke training, additional terms may be set out within a UKASTA Corporate Training Agreement, proposal or written booking confirmation.

Where there is a conflict between these general Terms & Conditions and specifically agreed corporate terms, the specifically agreed terms will apply to that corporate booking to the extent of the conflict.

Individual learners enrolled through a corporate booking remain responsible for meeting their individual course and certification requirements.

20. Privacy

UKASTA processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

This includes information required to administer enrolments, communicate with learners, assess work, maintain appropriate training records and issue certification.

Our Privacy Policy is available separately on the UKASTA website.

21. Complaints

We want learners and corporate partners to have a positive experience with UKASTA.

If you have a concern or complaint, please contact us in the first instance at:

info@ukasta-academy.co.uk

Please provide sufficient information for us to understand the issue and investigate it appropriately.

We will aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and work towards a fair and reasonable resolution.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our courses, business practices or legal and regulatory requirements.

The version applicable to a purchase will generally be the version made available when the relevant contract was entered into, unless a change is required by law or is otherwise agreed with the customer.

Material changes will not be applied retrospectively in a way that unfairly disadvantages an existing learner.

23. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory legal protections applicable where you live, and nothing in these Terms removes those rights.
